I think I am going to make a post sometime soon about this community, and I’ll probably target e-mails at people at a variety of schools that are using WPMu. Your neighbor at UMass Amherst has done some great stuff with WPMu as well, and a lot of their documentation is online: http://www.oit.umass.edu/blogs/index.html

it is exciting to think so many colleges and universities are offering such a publishing platform for their students and faculty, and as you may have guessed, I think it marks a new moment in thinking through LMSs, regardless of any one application. I just like WordPress

I’m piloting a WPMU project at Smith College, with only a few blogs so far, but it’s been very exciting.

I totally agree with the post & commenters that coming together as WPMU admins could be really useful!

Wow, Michelle –how cool! I would love to see your WPmu install (I know I need help, so please forgive me.) And more and more, I think the whole lot of use should start sharing and talking about this stuff. because as much as I blog about the tech here, it would be just as cool to start imagining it in regards to the teaching.

I really appreciate the comment and kind words, and I have to say that it is all the other folks at UMW’s DTLT, not to mention the unbelievable life blood that are the students and faculty, that made this whole thing a relative success — and it sounds like you are having similar “problems” at Suffolk -which is very good for you. I hope we do connect quite soon too!

You can add Baruch College, CUNY to the list. We’re getting ready to make it public but WPMu is up and running on a Baruch server. We’re going to start publicizing it to faculty after our IT conference later this month where we will demonstrate it. We’ll start going after students later this spring.
