Watched Airplane!…

…in preparation for the trip to Italy tomorrow, which will begin with eight hours on a plane with two small, riotous kids.

I wonder if our captain will prove so engaging? Off color I know, but without question some of the best lines ever captured on film.

It’s a big building for sick people. And stop calling me Shirley!

I was going to quote the gladiators line, but I see it’s in the clip. Now I got nothing, which says a lot about my present mental state because on a good day I can quote the entire film.

    Buon viaggio!

Funny thing is I didn’t remember all these quotes were parts of different scenes. My memory conflated them all into one long dialog between Joey and Captain Oveur. I was waiting for the Turkish prison line, which doesn’t come for a while after the two featured above. Strange how the mind edits films for you.

Thanks for the well wishes, we are finally settling in, and boy is it nice to be in Italy. I can’t believe I have four full weeks of this, marrying up has its benefits :)
