Yes, other blogs run the cloud just fine, "/blog" only manifests on blog_id 1. WPMU forums have old threads about same issue affecting only blog 1. http://mu.wordpress.org/forums/topic.php?id=3672

D Sader,

I have another wrinkle which is interesting. I am working on a redesign for UMW Blogs, and as I was testing the site I noticed that a sitewide tag cloud that is not the home blog has none of these issues. Take a look at this sitewide tag cloud on a random blog in the environment: http://siteredesign.umwblogs.org/

Strange, I hope they do fix it, and as for those thousands of posts, I feel your pain, version 1.0 of that plugin gave my carpel tunnel syndrome :)

That's good. I don't know the cause nor the solution. Now I wait for Donncha and Thomas to upgrade the Sitewide Tags plugin. I'm still scarred from deleting towsands of posts after tinkerin with this plugin already. I release the widget in hopes we get a plugin update soon.

DSader,

First of all, thanks for the awesome widget. It is quite the combination of greatness, beautifully conceeved, designed, and executed.

Now, I turned off custom permalinks like you instructed and the tags now work. As for the tags blog, I can confirm the "Custom Fields" and "Key=Permalink," etc. show up as you said. Is this something that will mess up the link on the tags blog? It seems to be working fine? Is, perhaps, the custom field recording this because the original was using a different permalink structure than the tag blog?

Ignorantly yours ;)

I notice the same problem with the tag cloud when used on the "home" blog on your site as mine, and it only happens on the home blog as far as I can tell.

A tag link becomes hxxp://tags.umwblogs.org/blog/tag/as450/ when it should be
hxxp://tags.umwblogs.org/tag/as450/

In a non-vhost(my case) tags become
hxxp://umwblogs.org/tags/blog/tag/as450/
instead of
hxxp://umwblogs.org/tags/tag/as450/

I've reported this phenom at hxxp://ocaoimh.ie/2008/07/19/sitewide-tags-pages-for-wordpress-mu/

Again this only happens on the main blog with permalink enabled.

Also, Can you verify . . . ?
I've tried turning off options-permalinks in the home blog(default structure = /?p=123) and the tags don't 404 anymore. However, when I save a page/post in the home blog with permalinks off and then go write a new post in the tags blog new "Custom Fields" appear Key="permalink" and value="?p=123". The more posts/pages I save in the home blog, the more Custom Fields appear in the tags blog. Hmm.
