vinylcast #33: The Flaming Lips’ The Soft Bulletin

Continuing on a theme of 1990s albums that I loved, I chose to spin The Flaming Lips’ critical and commercial success The Soft Bulletin. Bought this one at Kim’s Mondo Video as well, and it is of a piece with Bombay the Hard Way and the K&D Sessions in my mind.

So many good songs on this album, and now whenever I hear it I am reminded of the time in 2015 when Adam Croom took Tim and I to see The Flaming Lips’ art gallery/performance space called The Womb in downtown OKC. This was another finylcast (or fake vinylcast) and part of that story is in the recording below. Enjoy! [embed]https://bavatuesdays.com/wp-content/audio/20200512_1402_Recording.mp3[/embed]
