Generations from now, they won't call it the Internet anymore. They'll just say, "I logged on to the Jim Groom this morning.
-Joe McMahon
Everything Jim Groom touches is gold. He's like King Midas, but with the Internet.
-Serena Epstein
My understanding is that an essential requirement of the internet is to do whatever Jim Groom asks of you while you're online.
-James D. Calder
@jimgroom is the Billy Martin of edtech.
-Luke Waltzer
My 3yr old son is VERY intrigued by @jimgroom's avatar. "Is he a superhero?" "Well, yes, son, to many he is."
-Clint Lalonde
Jim Groom is a fiery man.
-Antonella Dalla Torre
āReverendā Jim āThe Bavaā Groom, alias āSnake Pliskinā is a charlatan and a fraud, a self-confessed āused car salesmanā clawing his way into the glamour of the education technology keynote circuit via the efforts of his oppressed minions at the University of Mary Washingtonās DTLT and beyond. The monster behind educational time-sink ds106 and still recovering from his bid for hipster stardom with āEdupunkā, Jim spends his days using his dwindling credibility to sell cheap webhosting to gullible undergraduates and getting banned from YouTube for gross piracy.

All you need is a diagonal zipper, and you’re a made meme!
but… where are the tags?
… and the AJAX? š
The tags are on the back of my shirt and the ajax is under the sink!
Who knew web 2.0 looked so good? š
Okay, so one of my students asked me if I knew anything about the guy in tin foil and web 2.0 on Campus Walk. I told them it was probably some poor mentally disturbed person who had wandered on to campus….
You were half right, Jeff. (Actually, that was Joe McMahon -I stole his thunder-as I’m known to do!)
Is that what that is? Looks like a big dork. š
Send this man an order of fish tacos
To set the record straight. I stole this outfit from Joe McMahon, who created this with his friend Edwin and proceeded to parade around the UMW campus on Thursday. Genius! I “discovered” it near my desk on Friday and had Andy Rush take some quick shots for posterity. So Joe, you know you’re the man and deserve all the love on this one. And I will gladly replace this image with yours when you upload them -that’s a promise!!!
I KEEL U
Also, you missed Hot Fuzz. Go and see it RIGHT NOW.
