    Some context for the non movie fans.

    I’m still working on my stuff.

    It’ll be interesting to see the response to this one.

  2. Mikhail says:

    Beautiful. Just beautiful. Twitter as suicidal bloodletting. I love it. Now that yr shaved, you should do something as Col. Kurtz.

  3. Nice camera work. Who are you working with? This is a step up from previous vids. Keep at it man.

  4. jim doran says:

    This makes me want to grow a beard so I can shave it.

    Awesome.

    Shaving – it’s not just for backs anymore.

  5. Reverend says:

    Justin,

    Tom Woodward was behind the camera, and the guy is magic. He frames the detailed shots beautifully, and that reflection of the lights in the glasses may be one of my favorites ever.

  6. Alan Levine says:

    It is beautifully filmed with the closeups and angles that increase in variety as it progresses. And yes, the glasses were a great touch.

    But woah, Jim was making big bold strokes with the razor and no blood? Tough skin Rev.

    And risky! You really only have one take (or have to wait 3 months to redo).

  7. alternate title “Groomed”

    Can I get a copy in reverse?

  8. Reverend says:

    @Mikhail,
    Col. Kurtz, that gives me an idea, a wonderful awful idea!

    @Jim
    That is a terribly visual comment, I guess next time it’s gonna have to be my back.

    @Alan,
    As you know, you gotta have tough skin to make it in this business 🙂 And the beauty of this whole project is all Woodward, he’s got a video camea and he knows how to use it.

    @Peter,
    Now that is a title that totally escaped me, but I really didn;t want the video to be all about me, there’s actually something resembling a message in it I think. And that is the second time I have heard a call for this in reverse. Do I see a remix in its future?

  9. Elizabeth says:

    All I can say is wow, great job guys!

  10. Cole says:

    Kick ass. Great to see something like this. Killer work to both of you.

  11. Joe says:

    I’m…concerned.

  12. Brad K says:

    you both kicked it up to the stratosphere.

    I may be processing the meaning behind replacing the end of the scene with twitter for some time.

  13. Reverend says:

    @Elizabth and Cole:
    Why thank you, I’m actually pretty excited about how detailed TOm got with the camera, the whole idea of the intimacy and distance all at once is fascinating to me, as is the quotidian nature of shaving, transformation, and bearing the private. But I think I am thinking too much already.

    @Joe:
    As you should be, we need to talk.

    @Brad,
    Ahh, yes, why twitter? What does that mean? I have some theories, and I’m very glad you picked up on that—-I guess it ain’t brain surgery, but it’s not simply a goof. it’s a comment of sorts, but like you are suggesting, I really don;t know what the commentary is exactly.

  14. Tom says:

    Moderate remix because it needed more Godzilla.

  15. Reverend says:

    You know that warrants it’s own post on the bava, right? Fine, fine work.

  17. Meghan says:

    I didn’t think that anything could be more fascinating than seeing this unfold in person, but you’ve done it. Love it!

  18. Reverend says:

    Megan,

    It is all about your glasses! Thanks for being so liberal with your bathroom and family’s time, you rule!

  19. goamick says:

    When I did this is baffled by children, they did not recognize me.
    -Michael (met you at ITC10)

  20. Reverend says:

    @Tom,

    Your remixed version is now the official, YouTube ate this one 🙂
