This is an image for Digital Storytelling 106, we’re doing the daily shoot assignments for the next week, and this is my choice for today, based on this assignment:
Showcase the beauty of living foliage! Make a photo of a single leaf or an entire “greenscape” today. (@DeForestRanger)
I have to say I’m liking the picture above (thanks to Joe Calpin for seeing the bumble bee) and I look forward to the next week of taking photos. I always wanted to do the photo-a-day for a year, but I’m not up to the whole year thing yet, but this represents my building up, and the assignments give me a frame. Also, I like the idea of immediately placing the ds106 internauts right in the flickr/twitter hashtag mix.
Whoa! This pic is awesome! When I saw the caption before seeing the pic, I wondered, how is he going to incorporate sharks into a nature scene? Or zombies?

What’s interesting is that when i read the assignment I didn’t really follow it word for word, but it did help me look for things. And maybe that’s the point, to just look around you a bit more closely than usual, And it’s cool that a camera can approximate what you see, or even how you see.
Cool action shot! I really like the shadows on the leaves. And by the way, that is a gigantic bumble bee.

I can’t get over how awesome this picture is….all I can say is wow. Not only is the timing absolutely incredible…but I love seeing animals in their natural environment, doing what they do best. Not to mention that your camera is fabulous because the leaves look perfect and crisp as the lights shine on them

I’m pretty impressed with this one, especially the more I look at it. I’m not much of a nature guy, and always thought why the hell photographers drool over nature so much. Then I took this, and now I know why, it lends itself to a beautiful shot, and makes the photographer look better than they really are. Also, the fact I am borrowing DTLT’s awesome camera and lenses doesn’t hurt.
