Daily Shoot: Pocket Kipple

Image of what was been in my pocket these last three days.

The Daily Shoot assignment for 2010/09/19:
Some carry a talisman, amulet, “lucky charm”, or just a comforting thing in our pocket. What do you carry? (@btusdin)

I love this prompt, and while my image is rather quotidian, I love the idea of what you carry in your pocket is a kind of space capsule of your life at any given moment. Plus it was quick and easy, just pour out my pockets and see what’s there, cause I am not organized enough to carry around any one thing for too long, save, of course cigarettes—and you’ll notice I still carry a vestige of that life 🙂

    Cool idea. Though I’ve realised I carry next to nothing in my pockets – not even a wallet. I use my backpack instead. I wonder what that signifies?

  2. Tom says:

    Don’t conflate quotidian with garbage you highered sob.

    Mike,

    To be fair, I read the prompt as what you have in your pockets, but it could just as easily be read as backpack, pocket book, jewelry, etc. I have none of the above, and being a long time smoker, pocket became a way of life for me. I think the interpretation of the prompt is half the fun 🙂

    @Tom,
    You think my picture is garbage? I’ll come down to Richmond tomorrow and put my garbage on your lawn, tough guy.

  4. Tom says:

    Picture is fine. It’s that highered language that gets me.

  5. Tom says:

    You sir, are no Phillip K. Dick. I say that your pockets are full of kibble.

    I miss you too, we have now established that—let’s make a movie for my ds106 class. When do we get together and shoot? And if the movie doesn’t work out, at least we can—I’m clean now, and have never been stronger! Plus, now is a beautiful time to travel around VA and enjoy the weather.

  7. Tom says:

    I’m game on both accounts. I want to test out these new lungs of yours.
