Generations from now, they won't call it the Internet anymore. They'll just say, "I logged on to the Jim Groom this morning.

Everything Jim Groom touches is gold. He's like King Midas, but with the Internet.
-Serena Epstein
My understanding is that an essential requirement of the internet is to do whatever Jim Groom asks of you while you're online.

My 3yr old son is VERY intrigued by @jimgroom's avatar. "Is he a superhero?" "Well, yes, son, to many he is."

āReverendā Jim āThe Bavaā Groom, alias āSnake Pliskinā is a charlatan and a fraud, a self-confessed āused car salesmanā clawing his way into the glamour of the education technology keynote circuit via the efforts of his oppressed minions at the University of Mary Washingtonās DTLT and beyond. The monster behind educational time-sink ds106 and still recovering from his bid for hipster stardom with āEdupunkā, Jim spends his days using his dwindling credibility to sell cheap webhosting to gullible undergraduates and getting banned from YouTube for gross piracy.

Perfect.
I just lost my appetite.
Where do you find this stuff?
Strangely enough, after watching this video my feet are stuck to the floor.
oh, man do I miss an evening at the drive-in. IIRC, the last flick I saw there – with my parents when I was a kid – was the awesome movie Alligator in 1980.
I love the swipe at DST!
Of course….now you have me hungry for Castleberry’s. I also feel the strange urge to watch “Loose Shoes”….
“We’re sorry, this video is no longer available.”
Now I’m just left wondering what I missed.
After making that comment it worked. … Strange, like everything else around here. š
This reminds me of being a kid in the late 70s. My dad would take me to the drive in and expose me to life-scarring movies. I remember seeing several Leo Fulci pictures there, and I was 9 years old! But those intermission adverts were exactly what you have up here- not updated since 1960. The food looks so awful- those BBQ sandwiches made me shudder. Great stuff. Thanks for the memories!
