My network went to Vancouver and all I got was this lousy mp3

Download Where’s the bava?

I see this audio file as the greatest of tributes, and want to thank Dave Cormier for pointing me to it. An evening at Casa Lamb/McPhee is one of life’s great social, emotional, and psychic pleasures. I was sorry to miss the actual Northern Voice conference, but missing the hanging out around and after that event is what really kills me. I missed you freaks, and I am deeply honored that I could be the fodder for your b-music entertainment. Thanks for the ego stroke set to music, it bottles just a little of the magic that has become the edtech presence at Northern Voice.

Honestly, I had at least 20 people ask me where you were, and a few were very upset we didn’t do whatever it took to get you to Vancouver. It might have been the most common complaint I heard.

  2. Reverend says:

Those are 20 of the smartest people I never met 🙂 Kudos to you once again pulling off the greatest of conference hospitality gigs, and I have to say the song you linked to “We did it again!” is ever so groovy, hard to believe that was 1975.

  3. I’m personally very upset that my first experience at Northern Voice had 100% less Jim Groom than some other years had. Luckily, the conference was so jaw-droppingly astounding on all other levels that I don’t feel totally ripped off, but I can’t say the same for the poor lost souls who stood in the atrium looking utterly lost and murmuring, “Have you seen the Bava anywhere?” Poor things. Some of them had to be led away and given blankets and hot cocoa.

  4. Reverend says:

    @rachel,

I heard you did visual therapy for them, and from what I saw it was pretty amazing!

  5. Martha says:

I suspect Jim hired those 20 people to ask about him, thus building a “Where’s the Bava” phenomenon that would result in his friends recording a tribute album for him. That’s the kind of criminal mastermind we’re dealing with here, folks.

  6. Scott Leslie says:

I don’t know what the hell you people are talking about – Jim was there, he and I were hanging out in the lounge with the carousel, a bunch of giant lizards and a hypodermic needle full of horse tranquilizer. You people were all clearly at some other conference.

  7. Grant says:

DeckJam Records presents Remix Relay – of course … this is the ‘B-Side’

      Grant,
I can only second Rachel’s “Rock-on!” And you may be happy to know I’ve had it on constant loop for a couple of days now, makes me want to make an album of presentations from edtech folks. Could be a fun project, and you, Scott Leslie, and Brian lamb as producers would be my vote.

    Bruce,

I’m personally upset that you, as a spam bot, copied an already published comment in a sneaky effort to insert your spam URL into the BavaSpace. I am hoping vengeance is quick, merciless, and some precious part of your body rots and falls into the sewer.

BavaTwins, activate! I’d edit “Bruce’s” comment and wipe out its URL.

    Comment Spam FrackTards, die!!!!

  10. Reverend says:

    Alan,

Done, though it kills me to do it. The more comments and action, the more value for my brand 🙂
